Hi, this is Dr. Edward Hallowell. I'm a Psychiatrist based in Boston, Massachusetts in the United States. I’m really thrilled to be the co-founder of Cogleap. For all these years, I’ve been working in the United States, working at the Harvard medical school, teaching there. I’ve written twenty books on the subject of attention and emotional development, raising children, raising happy families, treating various conditions related to emotional wellbeing.

When I was asked what title to have as Co-founder, I said Chief Visionary Officer. That's what I think I really got to bring to you from my years at Harvard and from my years of teaching and writing books and working with parents. I have a vision to share, a vision to bring children from a curriculum that may be too rigid to a curriculum that will allow them to break out of a memorize-and-forget standard, a vision where they can conceive of new ideas and test them out, where they can experience the exhilaration of mastery, where they can experience the exhilaration of experimentation and discovery, where they can experience the exhilaration of conceiving of a new idea, a new project, and trying it out and testing it out and growing it, and seeing what happens when you try and fail, try and fail, and then try and succeed.

And with the encouragement, we will be able to provide the kind of structures and help, particularly for kids who have trouble getting organized and staying on track. I have particular expertise with kids who have trouble staying focused and staying organized. We also help parents, counsel parents about how to work with those children. We'll be working with the parents, with the schools on the entire child, not just the intellect of the behavior, but the physical wellbeing as well. We'll have a comprehensive program to help the parent, the child, the school, and the family. We’ll have the entire package to maximize success, not just success, but wellbeing as well. We want emotional development as well as cognitive development. And that's been the thrust of my work over my forty years in the field and my sixty-eight years on this planet. I also have three children of my own who are now in their twenties. And so I know firsthand what it is like to raise children.

I’m coming on board with a lot of enthusiasm, but also a lot of knowledge and a lot of excitement as well as tremendous credentials. I’ve written twenty books, most of which have been translated into Chinese, and they've been well received. I'm honored to come to your country. I come from a very young country and you have an ancient country with thousands of years of tradition behind you and so much knowledge, so much more traditional knowledge than we have over here. But I have some ideas that I think will be helpful to you that I’m eager to share. I really look forward to joining you on bringing what I’ve learned to the great country of China.

我带着极大热情来加入思欣跃，同时也带来很多知识，激动和非常多的信誉。我写了20多本书，大部分也已经被翻译成中文并且很受欢迎。我很荣幸能够到你们国家，我来自一个年轻的国家，而你们的国家背后有悠久的历史，有上千年的传统以及如此之多的知识。这些都是我们国家所没有的。但是我想我有一些主意是能帮助到你们的，我很期待分享它们。我非常期待加入你们，把我所学的带给这个伟大的国家。
